The month of March is Women’s History Month
Women’s History Month is a long overdue acknowledgement of the seminal role women play in our society, but except for gender appropriate sports, the achievements of women largely go unrecognized and unnoticed. This year, the women’s NCAA Basketball Tournament garnered the attention it deserved. To honor “Women’s History Month” and excellence in women’s sport, Notre Dame created a recognition gift that honored and highlighted their champion, women’s basketball program. The gift was understated, elegant and meaningful-a signed mini-basketball with stand-delivered in a custom crafted, presentation box that functioned as a messenger, container and keepsake all rolled into one, cohesive whole.
With budget constraints and tight timelines, Trims was asked to create just such a package. Coach McGraw penned a moving message to accompany each package. At first the thought was to insert a gift enclosure; however, as the creative process played out, we decided the best way to enhance the packaging was to letter press and foil stamp the Coach’s message inside the lid of the presentation box. By doing this, the message would remain permanently connected to the keepsake, gift box, itself. It took a week to the messaging. Once the redactions, edits and design alterations were made, the boxes went to press. Not only did their arrival come at the close of Women’s History Month but also during Notre Dame’s march to the 2019, NCAA Championship game. Trusted Trims’ vendor/partners fabricated the presentation boxes and its professional fulfillment team assembled, packed and drop shipped these gifts around the globe.
