It’s no secret that iPads are a lot of fun. We love them for connecting through social media, playing games, and watching movies, but their abilities have the potential to reach beyond entertainment.
While still predominantly purchased for leisure, PCMag.com reports “about 21 percent of new iPad buyers are likely to use the tablet for business.” Not only does their portability allow for the completion of tasks outside the office, existing and custom apps help us to “get more work done out in the field or on the shop floor,” OpenForum says.
Inc.com lists “a new point of sale” and “a more complete catalog” as ways iPads improve sales activities. We can use them to give engaging presentations, to provide a user-friendly digital catalog, and to simplify the collection of client information. How have you made use of your iPad at work?
We’ll wait with baited breath to see if Microsoft’s Surface tablet can compete. We hope it offers a way to remote in to office desktops.
